Music That Travels With You
At the heart of the Zagreb Airport passenger terminal, music travels alongside our passengers. Piano of Hope creates a unique encounter between classical music and travel, turning a place of transit into a space of culture, emotion, and human connection.
The piano invites travelers from around the world to pause, listen, and play-sharing a musical moment that transcends languages and destinations.

A Cultural Project in Motion
The Piano of Hope project was launched during the renovation of the Croatian Music Institute (HGZ), with the idea of bringing the sound of the concert hall beyond traditional cultural spaces - directly among people and travelers from across the globe.
While the historic home of HGZ undergoes restoration, music continues its journey in a new setting: an international crossroads where cultures meet every day.

Music in a Time of Transition
The HGZ building, including its concert hall, suffered significant damage and remains under renovation. The reopening of the fully restored building is planned for early 2027, marking 200 years of HGZ’s continuous work and cultural influence.
Founded in the 19th century, HGZ is one of the world’s oldest music institutions and the birthplace of music education in Croatia. Once reopened, it will become a contemporary cultural center and the home of Croatia’s first Music Museum, enriching the country’s cultural landscape.
During this transitional period, Zagreb Airport proudly provides space for music to reach both domestic and international audiences - right where journeys begin and end.
